2007 STI short shifter rattle

I know I am not the first person to post this -- I have seen 10-20 different posts on different boards regarding this same issue, but no one has ever posted a resolution. I just bought a 2007 STI limited and it is amazing. Totally the coolest car I could have ever thought to own. I have had it for 4 days now and have noticed that in 1st, 3rd, or 5th as I accelerate the short shifter not only vibrates but also emits a metallic chatter or rattle. When I left off the gas it stops -- apply the gas and metallic rattle again. I have pulled down the boot and tried to hold on to a lower part of the shifter to stop the rattle or identify the cause and I have had no luck. Really this is the same thing that it seems a lot of people have described and I think mainly on the short shifter like this one. If anyone has any solutions to this problem I would GREATLY appreciate the help! I can bring it back to the dealer to look at -- but the dealer is 150 miles away. I didn't want the dealer to drive my new STI limited to a local dealer for the transfer -- so i just went to the dealer that had it and bought it with 4 miles on it instead. Anyway, I'd rather not have to bring it back to fix this issue. Thanks!
