1.8 vs. 2.2 vs. 2.5 vs. WRX tranny and drivetrain?

Hope this is the right forum.

Looking at swapping a WRX 2.0L into a 96 coupe with a 1.8L drive train. Does anyone know, between the 1.8, the 2.2, the 2.5RS, and the us-spec WRX drivetrains how much differance i'm looking at?

Do any of these cars share the same drive train?
Will the 1.8 even stand up to 240-50 HP range?
Is the tranny much different, or the drive train components?

Just researching, any info would be greatly appreciated.
