01 2.5 RS / tranny probs?
I have a 01 2.5 RS with 47.5K on it. For the last few weeks I have noticed a decrease in the power I seem to get when I try to accelerate in any given gear. Sometimes it seems to be really laboring up hills.
I can get up to speed ok but sometimes it seems like I have to drop down an extra gear than I am used to just to get ok power.
Is this probably an issue with my tranny? I also just noticed while test driving my car that the AC LED doesn't light up. I need to go back out and verify if my compressor is actually still working or not.
Would like to get some advice prior to bringing it into my dealer tomorrow.
Thanks!
Oops. Wrong forum but I can't move it...

Well,
I have my car back now. The dealer replaced the clutch, clutch plate, flywheel and bearing.
It definetly got rid of my problems however I am having trouble beleiving I could have burned through my clutch in 47.5k miles. I have had manual trans in all my cars for the last 15 or more years and this is the first time I have had to have the clutch or flywheel replaced. Are the Subaru OEM parts that prone to wear?
Thanks,
Also to answer your questions BAN. My RPMs would increase even though I had no speed. My car has a nearly new K&N filter and I had the 30K service (late) at 42K.

It's easier to wear out a clutch on an AWD car than a 2WD. I didn't have either of my OEM clutches for more than 35k miles (in fact the replacement was only on the car for about 5k) so I can't compare my wear to yours.
