'00 2.5RS 4eat Tranny issue

This problem has become a royal pain in the butt and it has gotten worse.

My car has 32k miles.
When driving the car, and parking it, when i put the car in drive again, nothing happens. Nothing happens in first, second, third, or drive. Only reverse. This happens about 1 in 5 times I drive it, and it's getting more frequent.

I've tried to put it back in reverse, then back to drive, nothing. Back to park, then to drive, nothing. No combination works.

The only thing that works, is revving the engine to about 4k and then i feel a soft engagement. This soft engagement doesn't feel like the normal transmission, but the car starts to move (1-3mph), but giving gas doesn't net more speed, once more gas is given, then the tranny catches. Sometimes the AToil temp light flashes, which is inaccurate, because theres no way the fluid is that hot after 15 seconds of starting the car.

I've checked the fluids, and it's fine.

Anyone have any insight into this? What would it take for a 4eat to not engage in drive and have to rev to 4k for the engine to engage momentarily, then engage fully. This is so annoying.

Hi I'm new here. I just wanted to ask if you can hear the tranny switching from gear to gear?

Does the tranny make any noise at all?

Sometimes it could be something simple as the linkage being bent and not enaging all the way.

The some similar things happen to my '00 RS at 50,000 mi. Dealer replaced the 4eat under the powertrain warranty. Took about 1 week and no charge.
Hope this helps.
