It depends on the year, if it's a 1999 with the fix or newer you're toast. If it's older then you might have a chance. Car for car his is faster, but you never know maybe he doesn't launch well.

I've gone head to head with a couple mid 90's Cobra. In my experience I just eat them off the line. Then it turns into a pretty good race. Note my WRX was stock a the time. I did race a modded one from a roll and I got eaten up!

Yeah, if it's from a roll you're toast. From a standing start, you definitely have a chance.

The newer cobras are FAST! They are really not meant to take off the line fast, but once they hook its byebye for all of us. Cobras stock put close to 390whp. I saw one guy dyno his 03' cobra with an catback exhaust and he got 405 at the wheels. Two weeks later I saw the same guy at sears point raceway run a 12.9. For under $500, a cobra can be in the 11's. If a newer cobra pulls up next to you, just let him go.

There was no 2002 Cobra in the US.

Only a handful of Cobras were made, and they were all shipped to Australia, where they were converted to right-hand drive, and side marker lights and another set of fog lamps were set inside the front bumper. The 2003 Cobra would hit dealer showrooms in June of 2002, so the production run on '02 snakes was cut short.

Talking

i ran a 96 or so cobra one night and i ate him up. It was from a stop of course.
I had him like 3 cars off the line and beat him bad by o say 8-10 cars
He had exhaust, intake, pulleys adn igniton. I only had tbe w upipe, intake and boost controller set to 16psi. So i say you should have him no problem if you can drive good.

8-10 cars. Are you sure? you cant beat any cobra by 8-10 cars with uppipe, and boost controller. 8-10 cars (depending on your speed) is a multiple second advantage and that's just not believable. Especially when the top end on the wrx is soooo much weaker than a Cobra. one car is approx 15 feet (guestimate) so you beat this guy buy 120-150 feet?

I tryed racing one of the supercharged cobra's. Its not pretty. I got a good launch and hit every shift and after like 2nd he started pulling, and kept pulling until i didnt see much of him. Way to fast for our cars.
