Help me beat a new Evo
Allright, in advance any and all replys to this one are greatly appreciated.
My brother just recently bought an Evo. I have a modded up WRX . . . . Up/Down pipes, radiator hoses, catback, short throw shifter, new tires, lightened to the max 9 Backseats gone, spare tire gone, trunk lining gone. And I am getting my ECU custom remapped by Shiv at Vishnu.
My question to anyone and everyone is, If i have all that is there any way of defeating my brother in the 1/4 mile. I really really cannot take a loss to him. I killed his Acura Type R. His mustang 5.0 smoked me and now he has a new evo. I need to win so I can do the bannana dance in front of his car
EVO'S SUCK !

Yeah I agree that Evo's don't suck. I am just upset that I have had to put a lot of money in mine when his rolls off the floor ragin fast. I am gonna get him though. . . . I hope.

P.S. I am a little better skilled with a clutch than he is and I have a little bit better reaction time. So maybe I will beat him

Wierd my Bro has a Wrx also and dogs most EVO's we raced(His mods:Up/Down Pipe,FMIC,BOV,Intake). The only thing to worry about that i've learned from AWD vehicles is launching your car expecially from a dead stop like at the track. The FMIC will help the most!

It's possible that at the drags you can beat a stock EVO with the Vishnu Stage 1 mods, but you probably already know that Vishnu Performance has Stage kits for the EVO, as well.

well i have beaten evo's and i'm thinking with the custom map u should be ahead of him, i have a hks manifold up pipe, turbo back and bigger turbo but i ran a 13.4 ... the remap makes the biggest diff. which i dont have yet. FMIC wont make the biggest dif get a NX spray kit and it'll be fine

His car also rolled out of the showroom with a pricetag that's almost 8K higher. I wouldn't be complaining too much.

Your best bet is what you have already done with a good quality boost controller. That should put you in the low to mid 13s easy.
If you really want to show him your tail lights your going to need to upgrade your Turbo.
In my 02 WRX
I ran 8.28 in the 1/8 mile and 12.9 in the 1/4 mile with just a turbo back exhaust, up pipe, VF30 turbo, and a boost controller. No other mods (stock ECU, stock fuel injector , stock IC, etc)
Car ran great like this at 16 psi boost.
A VF30 turbo can be found for around $800.
