STi gauges. Which are most compatible with 2002 WRX?
I'm looking into swapping to STi gauge cluster but I've read a bunch of threads stating some gauges don't work correctly or lights such as shift lights etc..
Question is, which JDM/USDM STi gauge cluster will be most functional in a 2002 wrx? Are any of them completely plug and play? If not, which one is the most functional while requiring the least amount of rewiring and modification?

cool xhengmanx said that he put in a USDM 05 into his and it plug n played but the hand break light stays on unless you clip a wire.
So far that makes 04-05 USDM plug and play.

04 is a 100% plug in play.
05 is not 100%.
Ive got an 05 in my 02. There are TWO wires you have to snip. My ebrake light goes on/off with the ebrake, my shift buzzer/light work, the dimming feature works as well.
Now I follow a write up on nasioc and followed it to a "T". Other people that used the same write up said that their ebrake light, buzz/shift, dimmer didnt work. So idk if I just got lucky, or if they didnt do their right.

I cant remember.
For some really wierd reason, my external temp will read numbers
I DONT have a temp sensor but it doesnt show the two dashed lines "--" like everyone else's did. But the temp it reads, is way off. It will say its like 43* when its damn near 70* And the numbers do change.
I showed it to Paul@Db one time and he thought it was hella weird and just laughed.
I dont have the same SN on nasioc, but heres what I did (switched a few things up from the OP. I read the whole thread and did some stuff others were suggesting)

looks like I'm buying xhengmanx's cluster. He has an 04. He said he still had to clip one wire. I think that is for the hand break light and if you dont clip it, the light stays on all the time.

I bought a gauge cluster from XhengmanX. He says they are for a 2004 USDM STi. Problem is, he bought the gauge cluster from A.V.E. I mentioned to A.V.E. that i purchased his 04 gauge cluster and he said that it is actually an 05. I think it's pretty important to tell the difference between the two because according to the article on nazioc found here http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1166573 the 04 gauge cluster and 05 gauge cluster require different wires to be cut. My question now is, If i had an 04 and 05 cluster in my hand, how would i be able to tell them apart by looking at them? Anybody know? Are they infact the same ?
