Help Please! Emission Problem!~

hi there, i live in chicago, i have a 2000 RS with a JDM wrx motor swap. and now i need to go to emissions and i fail. and now i duno what to do to make my car past. do you guys know any ways that i can do? please please help! thanks~

I know of a couple JDM swaps that have taken place here in California. These have passed the very strict REF inspections by using a USDM ECU. The two ECU's seem to be compatible to run the engine. Only difference is that the AVCS will not operate with the USDM ECU. If it works in California, I am sure it will work in Chicago.

So your best, and probably only bet is to go and get a USDM ECU, and get it reflashed to handle the VF34 turbo that comes with the JDM engine. With that done it should pass smog.
