97 Legacy GT EJ25 -> EJ20H questions
Okay, I'm rather new to subarus and all the different engines out there, but I am in the position where I am going to need to swap out my 2.5L and am considering the EJ20H Sequential turbo motor from a BG5 Legacy. I have several questions about this however:
Is the cross-member from JDM BG5 chassis going to work on my 97 GT?
What would I need to do sensor-wise and as far as the wiring harness in order to keep this car emissions legal (in CT if anyone's familiar with our laws)? Since the donor car wouldn't have been OBD-2 compliant, obviously I can't just swap the ECU and harness straight across.
How much trouble is it really to move the turbo out of the way of the steering column? Will I have to fab up an entire manifold, or is it just the piping that needs to be modified, and if so, how extensive will this be?
Is it true that the EJ20H will bolt right up to my 4EAT tranny?
I know there are lots of others out there with good knowledge of these cars and engines, so if I am being an idiot and there's a better option for a swap, then please let me know your take.
The main thing is that if I have to replace my engine anyway (cracked cylinder wall), I might as well replace it with an engine that's not so flawed from the start, and have a bit more power in the process. Other than swapping the engine, it is not likely that I will further modify the car, so I don't need some burly monster of an engine with closed deck, forged internals and all that.
Any info would be much appreciated.

i am doing the very thign you speak of good sir. and it looks to me soo far that all it takes is some "creative piping" for the turbos but i haven't gotten the engine in the car yet.
