everything should pretty much bolt up. you have to splice the wiring harness

you can get a used sti turbo pretty cheap-i seen them go for $300-$400, the only problem is there is no maps for vf39 (stock sti turbo)
if you got the accessport for wrx-there only maps for vf30 and vf34
i'm pretty sure you can't download the maps for the sti ecu
your best bet is run a vf30 or vf34 if your going to keep the accessport...

I will be buying a salvage STI but i am not sure which year sti i should buy a 2004 or a 2005.
As far as wiring goes, you wouldn't rewire ANYTHING..all you would do is take the whole harness out of the STi and put it into your WRX. Basically all you end up with is a 2005 WRX shell and STi componets.
It doesn't make sense to do this, if it was an older WRX that you got really cheap...sure + don't you think the donor car is going to have something wrecked? I mean its a donor car for a reason (normally b/c it got crashedd)
*do the math, even if you only pay $10K for mods for the STi parts, you had to of paid $25K for the 05 WRX, so now you have a $35K STi...If you crash your car and need to replace this stuff insurance will never pay for that...they will pay you for the 05 WRX stuff, thats it....it doesn't make financial sense...
*even if you insured your mods (which you will pay a higher premium for) insurance companys only pay on average $0.25 on the dollar for that stuff, so out ot $10K that's $2,500.

Today i paid a visit to my subaru dealership shich i bought my car from and test drove an sti. i think that the sti is an over all better quality maid car, the tranny shifted smoother and it just felt like it was build with more care and thought invoved. I talked to the dealer and i aksed him what i would have to pay for an sti if i traded in my wrx. I told him i am willing to put 5k down including the wrx, he came up with a price of about $530 a month, i am paying $415 a month for my wrx, this price difference a month is deffinetly something that makes sense to me and i think i will be trading it in. I wanted to do this because i thought the price difference would be to great per month for me to be able to afford. thanx for all the info sorry that i waisted peoples time asking this, i am sure some one els can find this info useful in one way or another. THANK YOU ALL. will post pictures of the old wrx and the new STI soon.

OUCH!!! I am paying $339 for my rex and I also put 5k down no trade in @ Evenston Subaru in IL.
So for me the best thing to do is the STI swap... plus my insurance does not go up that much more $550 every 6 months for full coverage. (from $495).
But in your case it was the best solution...And more cost effective, plus you get the warrantee.
