Transmission fluid recommendations?

I'm going to be changing my transmission fluid soon, I just want to put in better than factory fluid but something that isn't going to mess up my gears. Thanks!

Redline and the like is good. I believe redline has one that they say is good for Subarus.

However, OEM tranny fluid is very hard to beat. Subaru fluid is really good stuff.

How about this: all the lubes mentioned in this thread are more than sufficient to lube your gearbox. Find the one whose packaging/smell/color/taste/name you like the most and use that.

because i've had it in my car and several others that I know personally that have had it in their subarus as well as evo's and have had nothing but bad luck or the transmission was better without it.

sorry if you have some technical or data to back it up but if others have had problems with it that I personally know, I will stay away from it and promote fluids that I have seen first hand to work well and solve small transmission issues. I had a few little hiccups in my tranny and throwing in motul not only helped the issues but made the transmission shift 10x smoother than stock fluid.
