Tonight turned out bad
You don't have to read this if you don't want to I just need to vent a little before I hit and possibly break something.
A coworker of mine once in a while asks me if I want to hang out, usually it's later when 1. I have plans or 2. I'm tired and don't feel like going out. It's always the "Come over and chill with me" routine. I'm not stupid I know how guys think especially when they invite a girl over to their house when all their friends left to go to a club. I said I'm sorry but I didn't feel like just doing that I'd rather go out somewhere with people (I'm dating someone and don't want to be in that situation with another guy). He of course got mad because I never want to do anything. So his retort was to tell me he's tired of sticking up for me when everyone at work thinks I'm a dumb blonde. Because god forbid I try to lighten the mood at work and not be so serious all the time, and they think I'm dumb because I'm lighthearted and like to talk about car stuff. While the rest of the guys at work are always talking about how drunk they got at the party last night and which girl was the hottest and who banged who. Yeah, I'm dumb because I'd rather spend my time reading a good book. It's so funny how people deal out such low blows when they're being rejected. It's hurtful.

I really don't get it lol, I don't think it's attractive mentally or physically when a guy's talking about how wasted he got and how many games of beer pong he played. I guess my priorities are different.

Try not to let it bother you. I wouldn't take anything they say seriously.
If they guy is trying to rip on you and the best thing he can come up with is that he is going to stop sticking up for you then he really has nothing. Yeah it is nice to know there are people out there that have your back, but it's got to be for the right reasons.

I always did like it when people try to stick an excuse or last resort favor in there to get you to change your mind. If he had any sort of decent heart in him, he would not have an issue standing up for you without expecting something in return, some people think it is, but it really isn't always a you scratch my back i scratch yours world.
As for this gentleman coworker, all i can say is one thing, and its something i find myself saying a lot at taco bell, and that is one little phrase, "I'm surrounded by boys."
Some individuals just never grow up and learn how to properly relate and react to coworkers, especially those of the opposite sex, and of course, if he spends most of his time talking about the parties he went too and how totally plastered he got from playing beer pong (which i still have no clue what it is aside from a excuse for people who lack an actual social life to get drunk and pretend they have one) then this particular individual still has a significant amount of growing up to do, just laugh him off and realize that you take a much more productive path in your life, not one that centers around spending lots of money on a liquid that makes you who you aren't, hehe.
As for him backing you up, sometimes you just don't need it, let them talk all the crap they want, they don't know you.

Thanks guys, yeah i've notice a lot of guys around here act younger, a lot of girls do too. It's like because there's so little to do in turlock everyone is obsessed with drinking, and if you don't drink often then you're automatically weird. I will return to work with my "happy" mask on lol.

That dude clearly wanted to get some from you, a woman with a boyfriend. You shot him down. His immaturity seeped out of his toolbag mouth. Some boys become men. Some boys just grow older and the only thing that matures is their tantrum methodology along with their pouting technique. Don't sweat it and if he starts harrasing you, be assertive and report his dumb *** to your HR if he doesn't correct his behavior. Just please don't mistake the guy for a friend.

Just slap him and tell him to get a life and get over you. SIMPLE as that. Just be who you are and thats about it! Something my grandpa used to say "Illegitimus Non Carborundum". That means "Don't let the bastards grind you down.

Just put another one in the 'Immature' category. I have one at work also...23 years old and it's all about the party & the score. I tell him that one day he gonna realize that his priorities are all wrong. I just hope he doesn't hurt someone else while DUI. That would really suck.
