Car Info: 2001 BRP 2.5rs w/ 03 WRX
FS: 2001 Subaru Impreza RS w/ WRX swap

SOLD 2.22.09

I’m leaning towards selling my 2001 swapped RS. The reasons for selling are:

I work way too much to actually enjoy the car
I need to buy another car that can hold a family
I have another project coming up and could use some funds

This car pulls extremely hard. The 4th gear pull in this car is pretty damn good for only being 223hp. I have receipts for swap and any relevant invoices. Car is BAR legal to be registered in California. It has a clean title you’re more than welcome to carfax it. It has a very few dings and scratches for being 7 years old. I prefer you take a look at the car in person. I'll be happy to send a few photos but I'm not doing the microscopic photo shoot. I want to gauge interest and see if I can gather up a couple really firm buyers.

Located: San Jose, Ca 95127 - no shipping.
Price:10,000$ New Price as of 2/12/09
VIN: available upon seeing the car in person.
Color: Blue Ridge Pearl

Handling / Suspension:
Endless brakepads
Kyb/Agx shocks with Prodrive springs
WRX rear swaybar
Perrin Endlinks
STi Carbon Fiber Front Strut Brace

Drivetrain:
Transmission shifts fine (5 speed RS tranny)
Lightweight flywheel
ACT clutch

Exterior:
Real 22b Front Bumper w/ covers
JDM Front light weight bumper beam
JDM Taillights
Rare goldie rims ( not painted ones ) with Falken Ziex 80% tred left

Interior:
Everything works
Momo steering wheel
One small crack on dash. Only 3inches
Clean carpets - no rips.

Extras that will come w/ car - not installed:
JDM air freshner
2003 Stock WRX turbo
HKS turbo timer

Frequently Asked Questions
  • Was the swap done professionally or in a backyard?
The swap was done by professionals at a shop that specializes in Subarus. I paid money for the swap to be done and have invoices. The timing belt was also done to the engine when I had it installed.
  • Are you firm on your price?
The car is listed as worth approximately 7,500$ in good condition on KBB.com. The swap, timing belt and labor was over 3,000$. OEM JDM bumper 550$. Rare 5 spoke 98' goldies 350$ Plus all the extras. Not to mention the BAR sticker. This isn't a ghetto duct-taped car. There is very little room for negotiation.
  • Is the title clean?
Yes, the title is clean. So is the car. The paint is still deep blue and there are very few minor dings the were there from even before I owned the car.
  • The car has a BAR sticker, right?
Yes. It is California BAR legal. It is legal and cops will not give you any problems. The car is compliant with smog laws and passed smog no problem. I have paperwork to prove.
  • Can I come check the car out?
I'll only be showing the car to people who come with a real intent to buy the car. You must come with cash to prove this. I will not show the car to tire kickers or low ballers. I think I've been detailed and honest up front for you to make a solid decision.
  • I have a loan from a bank. Will this work?
Sure! Money is money, right? You need to be approved and in the final step to buy. Please don't waste our time by test driving the car without knowing if you're approved.
  • PM me your email and I can send you more photos.
  • Adult owned
  • Car is not raced. It's primarily my DD and I can get 27-28mpg when I really baby it.
  • No lowballers. I've had a few RS's so I know how much they're worth. Esp swapped ones..

A little history. My friend bought the car approx 3 years ago. He eventually swapped it at Garage Tuning in LA. I bought the car from him in Jan of 08. The second day I had it, it spun a rod because my friend didn't take care of it. We readjusted the price and I kept the car with the blown engine. I eventually removed the engine, spent about 6 months getting another engine and many parts that I wanted on the car. I then gave the chasis + spare engine + blown engine + a few extra goodies to Garage One located in San Jose, Ca. They re-installed the engine into the car and helped me fine tune it so it had no CEL or smog issuses. The car is totally done right and I've spent a lot of time getting it this way. Since I've had the car, all fluids have been changed ahead of schedule and the car runs, idles and sounds correct. Well there is one little squeak somewhere...but you know what I mean.

As much as I'd like to keep the car, my priorities have slowly changed over the corse of this year and I'm just trying to be responsible.

I've always loved wagons but my plan is to sell this car, drive my GTX for a little while and then try to buy a forester or audi. I really don't know yet. Everything is up in the air.

Good thing about this car is there's no crazy body kits or insane mods. I wanted to keep it tasteful and somewhat sleeper. Its a great starting base for someone wanting to build it up.
