WRX vs STi. Is the STi worth the money?
I got to spend roughly 75 min. in a new STi the other day. Great car. There wasn't anything I didn't like about the car. But I have been looking at track numbers and not sure if it's worth the initial buy in price.
Any opinions? I really like the 6-speed and the overall package fwiw.

With the STi you get a beefier trans and extra gear, better supension, better and cooler gauges, more horsepower and torque, bigger brakes, and no radio. If I could afford it I'd buy one!

Back in Oct. before I decided to buy a legacy I was looking at the Impreza WRX I took one for a test ride for 30 minutes I'm kinda led footed SO I LOVED THE TURBO. It was a 2003 black Impreza WRX 4dr 2.5 turbo fully loaded It was a GREAT CAR plaining on buying one soon. Haven't tried a 2004 Sti for a 03 they want 300 to 350 a month for 72. My wife is keep the legacy for herself .

the sti is not a wrx, its an sti, everything about that car is diffrent than wrx, everything that makes the sti 'the sti' is offered for sti and nothing else, i love the car, and im going to get one! i would turn down any evo or s2000 for it, besides i hate misubishi!
ofcourse its worth the money!!

yes it worth it! and legal!! legal turbo legal 300hp, legal spoiler, legal. =) ofcourse u can get a wrx and buy the jun stroker kit which would cost about the same as a base sti but thats ILLEGAL =), sti cannot be ticketed unless u start modding it to hell, cops will get ya, other than that its hell worth it. so is the WRX. but if u got the extra $6000-$7000, get the STi, it WORTH IT.

YES
The STi is worth it.
I traded in an 03 WRB WRX for my WRB STi. I was sad to see my WRX go, but on the drive home...I knew it was WELL WORTH IT.
It doesnt even feel like my old WRX. Has a sort of F-body feel in the power department, yet with the world class handling and braking one expects to see in this type of car.
And as far as modifications go, the STi's internals/powertrain will take you farther than any stock WRX components.
So...Is it worth it? yes
Should you trade if you have the chance? yes
will you ever regret trading a WRX for an STi? No
Plus, 1st year this car has ever been brought to the U.S. and the fact that the STi and the EVO seem to be marking a new wave of Japanese supercars headed our way.....you would have a pretty valuable piece on your hands in the years to come.

stock for stock yes.
as for all out. they are both the same foundation. the jun stroker kit is much krazier than the sti internals. ofcourse its expensive and illegal. wont pass smog either lol

sti has forged internals and valve timing, dude what more could you want? i dont think anyone here is doing major engine work to the sti, even if you are, its still better than a rex...the way i see it is even if you put 30,000 of power/handling mods into each, with equal drivers and similar mods the sti will still win...its just got more of the good stuff, warrantied, and from the factory...you cant go wrong w/ either...again YES its worth the money, regardless of whether or not you're going to mod the $hit out of it or not.
