Hello all.

I'm considering buying a used, relatively low miles, 2002-2003 WRX. I will not buy any car with any mods.

I'm very familiar with all the upgrades available for the WRX. I have a friend on here (wrx46) who has a bunch of mods, most of which were recommended by me.

Anyway, what problems, if any, are common to the WRX? I know the synchros kinda suck on the 5-speed. But other than that, are there any other common WRX foibles?

I currently own a 2003 GTI 1.8T. After driving (and racing) an R32, I had swore off of turbo 4-bangers. But, I can't escape the fact that a used WRX is much more financially viable for me than a used R32. My next car will be AWD, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

I hate the WRXs lag at low RPMs. But, my desire to have AWD is more important than avoiding lag.

I'm not looking for you all to convince me to get a WRX. I want one. I just need to know of any possible problem areas specific to the WRX. Thanks!!
