If this is your second car and you dont need it to be practical. I'd say get a s2k over the z. better handling, better looking, both vq and f20c have a lot of potential but i like to stay with 4 bangers

I have a civic and a 240sx. I like driving my 240 more because of the torque. And the vq engine has more torque and hp than the f20c. S2ks pull about 189hp/ 134lbs or torque stock on the dyno. I know that a vq engine will pull more than that. I do like them both but for dd g35/350z would be my choice.
I can't wait to drop in a v6 in my 240...

Get a used '01 or '02 BMW M coupe and smoke all the above mentioned cars for around the same price. Same 333hp engine as the E46 M3 in a lighter, stiffer, better handling chassis.

I also like the looks of the MR2, drove pretty well too....
that car is nice.

The 350 stock has more hp and more torque than a stock wrx. If you are slightly modded and you are on the freeway you can hang with the 350z until you put it in 5th gear and then he's got the additional 6th gear and will pull.
So if you are talking stock for stock the 350 has more power and more torque, and it comes on plenty fast IMO. My friend has one, I've ridden in it and also had some fun with one on the freeway on the way back from Buttonwillow a couple of years ago in my wagon (which at the time was about 190whp).
IMO they look fine and I wouldn't mind having one for fun on the track and rwd.

Its garbage. I test drove one, it really doesnt make much sense. Its not exiting to drive, its got ZERO practicality, and its way too heavy...
Sure it looks good, but you might as well buy a new Eclipse or something if thats what you care about.

The Z is an awesome track car....stock. With a few mods, it can hang with anything.
Unfortunately Nissan insists on not selling them with a turbo engine. So if you're looking to boost power, plan on spending a massive amount of money.
Personally, I love the way the Z looks. I also really like the exhaust note with some of the after market kits. I won't buy one though. It's too slow in a straight line for what you're paying and I'm not about to go out and buy a $7K turbo kit that might blow my engine up.

working a capital nissan and driving it around almost everyday i think can say i hate that car... it feels lazy. you can't see anything out of the windows. you sit too low. its a heavy car. it cramped. its a ***** to get in and out of, when u try and sit down you land on the metal frame rod in the seat, and you will slam you leg into the vent on the door at least once.... i hate it.
