a small quote from the article...
When a gear shift is made via paddles located behind the steering wheel, both clutches are opened, gears change and clutches close in a fraction of second under full load with virtually seamless power maintained. In a down shift situation DSG will even blip the throttle to match revs. DSG can also be utilized just like a regular automatic transmission with both a conservative "D" position and an aggressive "S" sport position.

Looks really good on paper...Golf R32
6-Speed DSG
4motion (Haldex)
3.2l 24v VR6
240hp and 236 lb-ft. of torque
special Aristo 18" wheels specially made for VW by OZ
225/40ZR-18 Dunlop tires
(HID) projector headlamps
4-piston calipers with 334mm (13.1 in.) vented rotors
suspension sits 20mm lower on H&R springs and Bilstein shocks
the only problem will be the Price....and since it is a VW, if it comes here then expect over $30K (ouch!)

I've seen that article back when R32 first came out (ie. w-a-y before the DSG tranny). If they priced it at $32k then, i'm sure it's gonna be much higher now (at least + $1.5~2 k's..?).
I dreamt about Golf Rally since the 80's... I hope they bring it to US
