Not many... my friend has a stock WRX eating Cobras up for lunch on mountain roads.
The only car I would truly fear is a Evo 8.

This applies to both Autox and Road Course.
On an unforgiving, blind backroad, the WRX might have the edge on the Type-R because the WRXs AWD and midrange torque will help the driver recover from mistakes such as being in too high a gear at the exit of a decreasing radius corner. Unlike in an AutoX or a Road Course, one cannot always predict the correct gear, line and braking point for an approaching corner on an unpredictable backroad.

I own a 03 Sedan 5spd, and a 1987 Buick Grand National. The GN is a hell of alot faster, but i cant drive it in the winter. A EVO VIII and unfortunatly a Neon SRT-4 would give it a run for its money but I think that the WRX is the best bang for the buck on the market for a new car besides a Viper. Besides who the hell wants to drive a neon? You could buy a 90's Corvette, Camaro or T/A modify it with the left over money and kill a WRX, but gas is expensive too. You could also buy a Mustang, but then you would have to kick your own ***.

when you least expect it........somebody is always faster than you. bang for buck.....the WRX rocks!!!!!! i was home visiting my parents a while back for a picnic, and my mother in her semi retirement had bought a 2002 porsche 911........so like any loving son......i took the thing out for a spin around the block!!!! talk about spin.....JEESH!!!!! that car really is nice...fit and finish inside is insane. they really are a piece of art. when the doors are opened they windows drop 1/8" and then quickly shut once the door is closed.....this is to prevent that annoying POP when a door is shut....hehe....how's that for attention to detail. the power outta that car is insane. it's much more than i need...all in all an amazing car. i can't imagine what the turbo S is like....INSANE!!!! but i still loved getting in my WRX to head back home that evening!!!! always a good time!!!! LONG LIVE THE WRX!!!!!!

GT Mustang?
Whoever posted that GT Mustangs are faster than a WRX must not know how to drive. GT Mustangs can be out run by a WRX in a quarter.... not to mention after a GT hits fifth gear they lose power.... the reason 5th gear overdrive. If you haven't given up yet you should pass the fiberglass Ford at about 150... But going through the gears up until the Mustang hits fourth a WRX will run them.

faster than wrx???
Just for the record, my father owns a 2001 ls1 corvette. My good friend has an 02 wrx. On more than one occasion we've lined the two cars up, and the vette has never been able to beat the wrx 0-60. Traction makes a big difference. However, the vette easily pulls even svt cobras from the lights. I'm a car enthusiast, and love american v-8's, but you just can't beat the function of awd.

i'll be drving my wrx soon (yey me !) but i would have to say that awd is the key to street racing. Good grippy tires is the second, but its hard to get a really good grip on regular pavement.
As for you list, i can't think of anything else off the top of my head, but i'm sure there are more cars. Just never underestimate anything, and you'll be fine

you're uneducated
You must have been home-schooled, or went to public school somewhere other than the west coast. You can't use the words 'than' or 'gentlemen' correctly. Also, when speaking about cars faster than a wrx, you must keep in mind the i-club motto: any fool can drive fast......in a straight line. I tore up my friends Mustang Cobra last weekend on the back roads on the way to work, and some guy's red firebird on a different route to work. Both of these roads have one thing in common, turns. I smoked these two on the turns because of the skid they would go into if they even tried to enter the turn at the same speed as I. Another point I'd like to make, is that as I live in upstate NY, I have passed every car on your retarded little list, in the snow, after being patient with them going 20 mph, because their inept vehicles can't go the speed limit in 6 inches of snow.

fast cars
Its all in the driver-
Ive been torched by guys in a civics and I have beaten down ZO6's at the track.
If you are talking in theory or just numbers you can only go straight line and skid pad #'s so you should be able to take a Type-R or Cooper because they are wrong wheel drive. BUt a 330 sport, Maro, SVT CObra, or used M3 or Vette will be a fight probably one you would loose. G35 might make the list it is only a 6 second car but: itwill out brake WRX by a mile, its got 280hp, better low range, and it puts .92 on a skid pad and costs 33,000
