stupid civic friend
ok heres the deal he thinks that is he get intake exhaust headers and cat that he will get about 60hp from it i tryed to explain to him that he is not going to. if he is lucky he might get like 30 but he would have to be really lucky. it is possible to get 30 from and rsx-s with that much( i would know i had one) but in a civic ex i dont think so.

I have a civic ex and I was going to tune it. I did all the research and it led me to the conclusion that its just not worth it. It would take around $10,000 just to get it near the power of a WRX and then I'd have an unreliable and illegal car thats too harsh a ride for just driving around town in. Thats why my *** is saving up for either a rex, 350z, or rsx type s. You want fast you have to start with a fast car.

well i used to have a rsx type-s i loved it. But it just isnt really powerfull. If i was you and i had the choice of those 3 cars i would go with the WRX. Best car in that group. Sure the 350z is just a cool car but what could be better then a turbo charged intercooled 227hp AWD animal like the WRX. Plus with the money you will save verses buying the 350z you can put that money into the WRX and have more hp then the 350 and you will be much faster.

very true, it would cost about 2 grand minimum to do a bseries swap, and that would only put you in low 15s,
plu si thought the suspension in my civic was sweet, but now that i have the wrx, i realize it was just more harsh than anything else....
i had ground controls, and kyb agx.....

one of the tuner mags picked up a 96 civic dx to do the full tuner package on. pic's of the car show it to be an ultra clean southern ca vehicle. none to be had in my area like that. so when you add up the cost of all the mods plus the price of the car, what do you have? a 7 yr old civic that requires constant tuning, rides harsh, and has no resale value. where's the a/c? and it's already 7 yrs old! nothing like a new car. besides how many people really have the knowledge to do some of the things they plan to do?

I had an Impreza 2.5RS. My old handle at the old i-club was jay25rs. I sold it and bought a brand new 2002 Civic Si. I wanted a WRX but the fact that the body panels don't line up perfectly from the factory is inexcusable. Plus, my dealer wouldn't repair my clutch shudder which has been reported since 500 miles. The Civic has a great interior, very high quality everywhere and has quite a wide torque band. I think it feels faster than my 2.5RS. I don't mean to start any wars but... coming from me, someone who was inseperable from subarus i think it provides a nice view that is now less biased. I still wouldn't mind an STi though.

I'm not a big fan of the new Si hatchback look but it is a nice car and very well put together. However I dont like the $19,000 price tag for a car that came in dead last when compared with all the other companies sport compact cars which are also cheaper than the Si.
the Si was definately a highly anticipated flop.

I personaly liked the previous gen coupe SI this new one just does nothing for me. It reminds me of a smaller version of the toyot mini-van that was out in the early 90s. No offense just my personal taste. With that said it should be quicker than a 2.5rs since it looses less to the wheels.

i had a 92 4dr civic with a b18b with a drag III kit. i can tell you that it is a hell of a lot cheaper then buying a wrx and faster. but living in minnesota is a different story. having all that power and no traction dont mean anything. thats why i bought a wrx.
