This movie was actually made way before Fast and Furious was in theaters. In fact, preproduction started in 1999. It won Best Dramatic Cinematography at Sundance, but has been collecting dust waiting for a post production company to do the honors. It premiered in select cities including Honolulu a year or two ago at Sundance film festivals.

They did an article about it coming out in October 2002 in SCC, but I guess they just finally got picked up by Lionsgate films (as well as changing the name from Quattro Noza).

This one should be good. It was done kinda lower budget, which means no flying Skylines and Yenko's. Real cars, real people, etc. They had a behind-the-scenes preview for the longest time on their website, but its gone since they changed the title. Probably be on the DVD or something.

I read something about the plot being where the main character, Quattro played by Robert Beaumont (who drives an Audi Quattro S4) is a street racer who gets with this chick Noza, (played by Brihanna Hernandez) and then it goes bad cause her boyfriend Chato (Victor Larios )just got out of the slammer, or something, and he's kind of pissed.

Premise: Set in southern California, this film portrays the lives of young people who are part of the illegal street car racing scene, focusing on the romance between a white kid from the desert, Quattro, and a Mexican-American girl from Crenshaw, Noza.
If you've ever enjoyed watching Autocannon's "The Last Race" then you'll like this one.

Here we go!

An exploration of the classic and modern urban myths of the West Coast set inside two of the most emotionally volatile subcultures in Southern California: hip-hop and illegal street car racing. The journey of inner city player Chato, a first-generation Guatemalan-American growing up in the hood of Crenshaw, Los Angeles, opens the door for two star-crossed lovers. Possessing the grace and innocence of a Mexican-born princess, Noza falls in love with Quattro, a white kid from the desert with the heart of an old-school street racer who burns up the same two-lane blacktop that his father did before him. This classic union sets the stage for a bitter vendetta in which all parties compete for the highest stakes. By mixing factual stories with fantastic imagery, ordinary teenage experiences of friendship and romance become the stuff of folklore. Each member of this cast of non-actors was hand-picked over the course of two years in order to find the most beautiful faces and unique personalities that would elevate this classic union of characters to legendary status.
