Need Expert Help on WRX Wheels mount on Scion tC
For wheel experts out there, I need some help.
I have a spare set of WRX 16x6.5 wheels with 55mm offset. I just bought a Scion tC and want to use the WRX 16" rims to mount for snow tires. They both are 5x100, so the WRX wheels will actually fit. The only thing I worry about is the offset. The factory rim come with tC is 17x7 wheels with 45mm offset, so the offset is a little different, 45mm vs. 55mm. Will the WRX wheel cause any problems?
Here is some result from some wheel offset calculation website
The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 4mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT in towards the body by 16mm

I would think that your tire size/height could be adjusted to fit in the wheel well. The only thing I think you will see happening is your turning will feel a bit weird and your tire wear will be dramatic. Other than that I wouldn't worry about any mechanical parts messing up.

You are basically moving your wheels 10mm closer to the center of your car. I am not sure how your figures calculate into this. It will work, assuming that you dont' hava any clearance issues. Your handeling will be compromised since your car will have a track width that is about 25mm narrower than OE. Good luck.
Maybe you should ask Luke or move this thread to the Rims & Tires forum.
