Modify the 07 STi or buy GT-R?
#17
Considering selling the STi for a GT-R. The STi is basically stock, but I'm getting a little bored with it. I don't want to deal too much with police, smog, or reliability issues, so I'm thinking about "upgrading" to a GT-R. I'm well aware of the cost increase, but I'm at a point in my life where I can afford it.
Thoughts?

^Man, this shouldn't even be a question! Have you seen all the so-called "super cars" the GT-R has destroyed already, it's ****ing unbelievable, especially coming from a V6! It's a beast for sure, if i had the money i'd get it in a heartbeat. Yeah, if your 07 STi is basically stock, i can understand why you're getting bored of it already, plus it IS a damn cop magnet lol! But the GT-R WILL be hella expensive (maintenance, insurance, gas, tires, just about everything haha), if you can afford it then get it for sure, you only live once man, better to have fun while you still can. It's one of my fav cars right now, just be sure to get a brand new 2013 model cuz the factory upgrades are waaay better than previous generations. I love how it killed a new 2012 Lexus LF-A that costs $400K too, ****ing hilarious man!

Personally, I could only seeing myself getting a GT-R if I had an abundant amount of money just sitting around (inheritance, or hitting the lotto really.) They are just so damn incredibly expensive to upkeep its crazy which is why most people treat them almost like a Ferrari or other super-car and only put ~200 miles a year on them.
For the amount of money you would spend on the sticker-price, payment (im guessing?), gas, oil, tires, gas, gas, and anything else you could have Kept the STI, bought a fully built longblock from Cosworth, Overhauled everything to make it a 600+whp track car, and STILL have money to take your family on Vacation to Europe..
OR you can think about selling the STi, buying an Evo X and doing all the above to that... but take that 600whp number, and make it 1000+whp.. Now there's an Idea
Just my .02
For what it's worth.

Get the GTR no question.
I am in a similar siuation throw in the 6 speed, bigger turbo, injectors, fuel pump, brembos on the WRX so I am happy with it, or.
Buy a Chrystler 300 SRT8 and slap a supercharger on it. see I dont exactly have the funds for a GTR so I have to go low budget.

I can say you can build one sick a## STI with alot less $$ then buying a GTR it all depends on what you like, I myself would rather not attract so much attention to what i am driving and blend in easier with others. and be able to own a house.
