Question Installing a Tach

is it easy? and should i get one that costs 70 bucks? or would it suck? theres one im lookin at on ebay that goes to 11k. looks nice. Im just curious if id have to get it installed by someone or if i could just do it with some friends help. Oh and my car now doesnt have one right now :P the first owner didnt get that option....its a 95 impreza coupe, 1.8, nothin special...i just want a tach!

There are a lot of factors that go into good instruments: In summary 70 bucks is not an atiquate amount to pay for a tachometer. You dont need one to go to 11k unless you are running an f1 engine. Go for something reliable, that gives you correct readings, Defi has a great set of stuff

Also installation, unless you are a whiz with electrical systems and chasing wires and leads then there might be a need for professional help

Your engine redlines at around 6000 , why would you need one that goes to 11000?

well i obviously know that i dont need it to go to 11k but it is cheap, lol thanks for your help though, i think i have a friend who could help me install it. ill check out Defi

Try and find a junkyard or recyler with a dash from a 93-96 Impreza that has a tach already and get that.
