i'm sure you've been there... www.miata.net great people, a lot of good info!
I just don't like larger wheels than necessary. I'd actually put 16s on the car if I had one.

OMG is this a mazdaspeed thread!? i love the miata... but i think if subaru banned me(believe me they would get a nice gift from me if they ever did) and i know i might get burned for this...

but i think---> mitsubishi EVO VIII
why? because every magazine i've read has rated it higher than the sti plus i like driving it....just hate the hood though.
The Evo is a great driver's car. The only things I don't like about it are the styling (or lack thereof) and the nameplate.

If I couldn't have a Subaru, I would get some other AWD car. Maybe an Audi or a Volvo.
Nah, the only reason I'd buy a non-Subaru is to not have AWD. RWD has its uses too.

I would too. But not when I'm in the market for a smaller car than I already have (2001 RS) with some power and RWD.

$15,000 isn't a matter of "saving a little more" though. Maybe if it were $3-4k. But right now the MazdaSpeed Miata is a better value than the elise, even though it probably doesn't have the same on-track potential. But as I have repeatedly done in this thread, I need to point out that I'm not interested in tracking this Miata. It's a daily driver, and for that I'd prefer it over the Elise.

kinda got lazy to read the whole thread there. in terms of value i got u there. in terms of daily driver... yep, i guess u can't find a better daily driver than that. i gotta admit though. . . not sure if its the mazdaspeed one...but the intercooler is kinda embarrasing looking.

Yeah, that's the MazdaSpeed intercooler. It does the job at 7 psi (hell, probably doesn't even need one for that much) but I imagine there are some nifty front mounts that will drop right in.

Heh, I'm sure the turbo is capable of more than that.

Don't know for sure. All I know is that it's an IHI ball-bearing turbo.
