well Nickk6 i've had mine for a few weeks and it's my only ride....(05 STi) and i don't have far to commute, but yes i believe it's fine...the only thing is it gets pretty rotten gas milage. so if this is an issue for you i would recomend against it then...other than that i actually look forward going to and coming from work now..

Yes, it is a reliable car... any car would be if you ask me.

I would not recommend an STi for a long commute, the reason being is the gas mileage.

If it's just for a regular commute and not for any sort of having fun with, get the regular WRX. I think it is a much ideal buy.

depending on how you drive and if its uphill or not, one way or two ways uphill. maybe you could get 3 trips to and from school, before you reach 1/8 of a tank.

I got my STi in october. I get about 250 miles before the gas light comes on. It's my daily
driver and I put about 500 miles a week on it. It looks to get between 18-21 MPG depending
on how hard I drive it.

I've had one for a year now. Most uncomfortable car ever made. I don't recommend sti as a daily.

I've had my car now for 16 months. My commute is about eighty miles round-trip. Yes the car has power windows, is air-conditioned and such. But you gotta understand what the STi is, it is a high performance vehicle. There is a lot of tire noise, little squeaks, and rattles, driveline noises. But boy, is it a hoot to drive. My kids don't grumble about it, but my wife only complains about the tire noise. It is a firm riding car, kinda twitchy on rough pavement/grooved freeways. But hey, I know what the STi is,and I look forward to driving it everytime. Might I suggest the Legacy GT as a more sporty/comfortable alternative compared to the raw and edgy power that the STi offers.

don't get the sti for a daily driver. very very uncomftorable if you commute or have to sit in traffic. I commute around 2500 miles a month

Go EVO. For those long commutes or sit and wait. seats are VERY VERY comfy. .. lol
Well ultimately when you look at STi/EVO the last thing on your mind is comfortability.. I think we all know that this topic has been discussed quite a bit and if you are looking for comfort look to the XI in the bmw 3 series(awd)...
