Nice try at looking eTough there Spunky.

But you didn't read any of it, and thus the worthlessness of your contribution.

As for all the other arguments as to which car is better...Get the car that best fits your needs/desires. Everyone has different criteria.
I, personally, like the WRX for its blend of features. Pure performance cars rarely make good commuter cars. The WRX is a very comfy car at 80mph on the fwy, it gets passable gas milage(I'm getting around 21-22mpg), its fast as I need it to be, it handles well, is reliable and cheap. Everything I want in a car. I have no comment on the SRT-4 as I've never driven one.

My 2 cents: I'd be willing to bet that you could get any 360 Modena with almost no abuse on it. Most people don't beat on these cars based on the demographics of their drivers just the same as an old women doesn't beat on a Buick. Naturally a turbo car that can be purchased by late teens, early twenty year olds stand the potential of getting a little abused. All I can say is look at every prespective car with an open mind. I was that age and I have to say I never beat on my cars. I drove them fast from time to time but always took very good care of them. That doesn't mean everyone does. My brother beats his cars to near death and is constantly fixing something. If I was you,, I'd have my money ready at a moments notice. Sit on it for a few months and keep your eyes on the market looking for a steal. I always saw them when I didn't have the money to get them. Last but no least, get what you want and not what everyone tells you you should get. You're the one making the payments and driving it. And dare I say,if you want (putting on suit) put a blow off valve on it.

The car had a VF22 Turbo, HKS Turbo back, DP, HKS BOV and boost guages... it ran like **** spiking at 20psi in 3rd at about 4,000 rpms, it felt like it was really really congested and I walked away from it and continued with my thoughts of a brand new SRT-4. Well I get a call today from the guy who is really cool by the way, would never steer me wrong, hard to believe but it's true these guys are top notch service wise, well he talks to me about finding a WRX for me, I told him a 2004, White was my first choice and he said they were hard to come by... how come? I dunno but for some reason I really like this car in white, hard to keep clean YES but it just looks nice, red second choice and then black or silver. I told him under 50 k on it and as low mileage as possible and clean clean clean, I told him I would sacrafice and get a color I wanted less to have a cleaner rex.
I really like the feel of these cars and I can't wait if I do indeed get put into one but the SRT is still top of my list, I just hear that the 5 speed gear box on these are weak and the 2.0L can't hold much HP... I won't be doing any 5k launches but I hear that these cars fold when HP increases and they start to be a pain in the *** when you approach close to 300hp with the 2.0L. I probobly won't ever get there in a WRX as far as the mods I want, I would just keep it simple with some more power from my mods but on the stock turbo. I live in Maine so the AWD is nice but as far as mods go, I can make alot more with an SRT for alot less then I can a WRX so that is on my mind as well... there are not too many SRT's around here either and alot consider them an underdog which I kinda like because they do have the bang to back up the big mouth for the price. I just hope I make the right choice, I will be in whatever I buy for a few years for sure, what do you guys think? Summer is approaching and I can't wait to see what I am in.

Hey I own a neon right now, my next car is going to be a 2.5rs. Right now it has a 161K on it and its an auto. The cars were known for their head gaskets, but mine went under warranty and was replaced with the upgraded Multi-Layered Stel Design, and 130K later I don't have any problems other than normal wear and tear crap. As much as everyone rags on neons, its hard to argue that they're not fun to drive, even if they're not the fastest things on the road, and with an SRT-4 you'd be getting decent speed to boot. But hey, it's all what features u rank and where, Such as relaibility or a potentially faster car for less money. Its hard to have someone answer it on a discussion board, you have to really ask yourself what is most important to you in a new car! Good luck!
