I would love to live in a country where execs can be arrested for violating public trust.

Car Info: No car right now....sob.
it's been a long time coming. mitsu has been going under for a while now. the next question is, will subaru continue to manufacture the STi, as it was primarily an EVo competitor. thats what i heard, at least.

^^ i believe subaru will smell the blood and go in for the kill.
kinda like ford with the camaro.
my only concern would be - what kind of market stimulation would be required for subaru to make the STi more appealing? maybe start targeting the domestic market?

Man Chevy puts out recalls like 4 to 6 years later too, some car companies really need to put emphasis on quality instead of profit, like Subaru, Honda, Toyota, those are probably the best quality cars, toyota on top.

Everyone seems to forget (or maybe US people dont even know about...)
that Subaru did the same thing as Mitsubishi like 10 years ago.
Bunch of arrests too.
Didnt report the recalls to the government. I think it was Legacy.

The difference is... after Subaru went through the hell after the scandal, Subaru is not doing it again (at least it seems).
Mitsubishi was still doing....

That's news to me. I think they barely invented netscape 1.0 10 years ago. I wouldn't have known about it.

Legacy recall scandal was 1999 and 2 high rank employee was arrested.

in 2001 FHI ex-charman was arrested for bribing politician.

Subaru's public image was pretty bad in japan after these but subaru came back strong.

I hope Mitsubishi survives but the sales dropped to less than half now...

good enough to have the legacy be car of the year last year(a 1st for subaru)- prompting "the go" for u.s. release. my friend who lives in japan stated that mitsubishi is "crap" there. even with the performance values of the evo- mitsus are like hyundais here.
