What a silly thing to say. Really wrong too. But time will tell.

OMG this is awesome. Really takes me back to Jr. High. "Oh yeah, well the car I like does blah blah blah waay better than the car you like."

Porsche seems like the answer if you want a precision sports car, have the cash and don't mind the 996's Ford Taurus looks (up until the 2005 model which is HOT). And I will say that X50 rocks even more if you didn't have to pay for it. BMW lost me with the flame surfacing crap and i-drive. The previous M5 is a nice car if you want a faster, capable cruiser that most people that don't know any better will like a lot. To me, the 3 series is the Civic for yuppies and the 5 series is for little more affluent people who wouldn't be caught dead in something as lowly as a 3 series. I have driven lots of them and they do everything pretty well but largely in my opinion are a facade that's riding on a name people respect for some reason. I really dig things like the variable redline and the M5's engine itself (the previous 5.0 V8). I still think it's appalling that they have floating brake calipers and MacPherson struts. Though my '72 2002 was pretty sweet.

If you are disrespecting a Z06, that really doesn't bother me because it means you A) have no idea what you are talking about and B) most likely have zero hands-on exerience with one. It's certainly OK to not like them, but to try to discredit their capability... Nah. No way. Porsches are really nice cars and I would kill for a '95 or so 993 twin turbo but my fav sports cars are: Elise, FD RX-7 and the '02+ Z06. They all have their issues and drawbacks but if you have ever spent time behind the wheel of these vehicles especially on a track, you will most likely know where I am coming from (even if you have other favs or simply disagree). I have never driven a Toyota powered Elise though, I'm sure it's pretty sweet.
