My dad has had Porsches ever since I was little. His last one was an 02 GT2 (pretty similar) and he had in tuned by APR. It was fast enough to make you think you were going to vomit.

In Marin county you see BMW's friggen EVERYWHERE. They are literally as common as Civics. Extremely cool cars (M series) but it's as if everyone has one. Very boring. You see a lot of Porsches too but not nearly as many. You don't however, see too many 996 turbos. The look is still somewhat exotic....I'd go with Porsche. There is at least one Carrera GT driving around (silver). Spotted a couple of times on Sir Francis Drake blvd.

Que? Niether. I mean, if you are talking about $80k throw away money then I would hold out for an '05 Carrera - the body changes make the car perfect (IMHO). The BMW is still bleh. Once they produce one without floating brake calipers I might be interested. You can get better brakes on a Sentra. And i-drive? No, YOU drive while I fiddle with this silly ****... Otherwise I would spend the money on something worthwhile like real estate.

My buddy has an M5, my dad and my lawyer both drive a 911 - the M5 really is a good driving car but the Porsche is a Porsche.
If it is the only car you've got, then I'd say M5. If you have a second car, then I'd say Porsche.

haha just like the other guys, i've wanted a porsche for as long as i can remember, one day the porsche turbo will be mine. As stated earlier, the M series and AMG series cars are a dime a dozen in the bay, while porsches are a nickel a dozen haha

Or did you mean a quarter a dozen?
