Which one would you rather have given you will be buying a lower mileage and well maintained '02 996 twin turbo (with X50 package 450hp) versus a brand new BMW E60 M5 all for around the same price ($80k).

The new M5 will be around $80-$90k, the M6 however will be $100K+. I'm contemplating selling my current M5 or trading in for the new one.

Nah, too boring. I don't like the Benz slushbox transmission and powerplant. The BMW is cool because it has a screaming V10 engine with a 8000RPM+ redline and a 7spd SMGIII tranny. But the 5.5L AMG Kompressor motors do have gobs and gobs or torque which is fun too, just wished they made a 6spd manual or a better SMG type transmission for it.

SC the e39.

E60=teh ugly. Dame Edna. Pig with lipstick. V10 helps, but 996TT>M5. Can't really mod a 500HP high compression V10 engine from BMW. However, tuners have 700hp out of a Turbo.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too. I know a guy selling his black 996 TT with the X50 package. Very temping. The Porsche twin turbo motors are SOLID. A few tweaks here and there, you have 600-700hp. I don't want to get that crazy with it though, maybe just chip + DP/exhaust and some suspension. I really like how they look too, all black with deep dish Fikse or BBS wheels would look really sick.

Yeah Cal, that Gemballa 996 TT is straight gangster haha, but damn that bodykit stands out too flashy. I like the RUF aero kit better... http://www.supercarsite.net/996_turbo_r.htm

Edit: Techart is SICK too! :drools:
