280HP Turbo upgrade (EJ20K)?
I'm curious in upgrading to at least the 280HP Sti turbocharger with a minimum of modifications. I know I have to make them, but I'd like to know what the basic mods I have to make are, and if any of these are available in Vancouver either as parts and/or a tuning shop...
My mechanic friend from Hong Kong has told me about many of the turbos used in Sti's in Asia and said the 280hp bolt-on one is certainly worth going for (he prefers the 202's 320hp one though!).
Anyway, what brand(s) and where should I go locally or elsewhere (I've checked out Ebay, too) to purchase/install them.
My only engine mods include a PWR top mount intercooler, AEM air intake, STI exhaust only (no cat mods), HKS BOV.
Any help regarding ECU's (new or reprogrammed?), oil coolers, etc would be appreciated.
Vinesh

Well, 280hp is achievable probably, but no one here in town can really prove it since there isn't a 4 wheel dyno around yet.
But definitely give Technik a call, they did Orbiter's car, and afaik, he's the fastest WRX in Vancouver (or BC for that matter) right now...with timeslips.

U may want to find out if your currently engine internal can handle that kinda output? Fuel supply? Cooling? Brakes upgrade? ECU tuning etc?
For installation I suggest u to go for Tekam Automotive in Burnaby. Reprogram your ECU u can contact A&J Racing I think they do reprogram Subaru's ECU too.

What's the use of reprogramming the ecu if they're not going to "tune" it to your car's current modifications?

I though they just sold 'preprogrammed' ECU's....
Now that they have the ability to tune cars, I think I'll head down to their shop to check it out.

Car Info: 2003 subaru forester xs
a&j racing sends ecu's out to ontario for yoshio to get remapped. i've not heard very much bad stuff about yoshio from guys on the other parts of this board who have had their ecu's done by him...

Vishnu and other packages
Thanks for the great info...
I also may just buy the tested packages (ie like Vishnu's Stage 0, etc). Does anyone have experience with them and if they actually work flawlessly? I hear Vishnu's is really reliable and the ECU is tuned for the WRX.
What is Technik's phone number?
Thanks again,
Vinesh
