At 14~15psi, is crank pulley worth it?
I'm planning to run 14~15psi of boost on my WRX via boost controller. So far I've upgraded the air intake system. My question is, is the crank pulley worth changing at this time? Approximately how much more "power" will I be able to get out of the pulleys? If not the pulleys, what should I be upgrading at this stage other than the cat-back exhaust system?
Knowledgeable dudes please reply.
Thanks.

i would invest in some tuning or another product that would help with the part throttle high egt problem. it's scary watching your egt's keep rising as you're going up a long hill. sure you can work around this by adjusting the throttle but its much simpler to have something correct the problem for you. from what i've read the new vishnu emi adapter is supposed to correct this problem but i haven't had any experience with it yet. i've about the same things done on my car and i'm putting off on anymore until i can get this problem figured out.

Like Keiho said, you'll see the extra usable hp from the pullies no mater what boost you're running.
IMO, the VERY first mod to do is the catless up-pipe. People have had the cat material from the stock up-pipe start to fall apart and damage the turbo.

Quarter mile? raced anyone?

My car ran the quarter in 14.4 seconds stock. I've heard of people running 14.0 seconds stock. Basically I don't launch my car very hard (2.0sec 60ft times) so it could probably get a better time if I really abused it on the launch.
BTW, I was wrong about the up-pipe being the first mod that should be done. The first thing you should do is get a set of real tires for the car. Those RE92's really suck compared to a proper performance tire.

Are you sure it's the "uppipe" that needs to be changed?
I always thought that it was the downpipe that needs to be changed. Isn't the cat attatched to the downpipe? And I thought there was only ONE cat for the WRX. I'm lost, and I could be completely wrong. Please update my ***.
Thank you

Like Yang said.
If you're going to get rid of any of the the cats, get rid of the one in the up-pipe. It's before the turbo and hurts spool up. I believe Vishnu has dynoed their up-pipe to make 8hp extra at the wheels. Not sure if that was peak or just at certain rpm.
Either way, the spool up time is decreased, and you don't have to worry about parts of the catalyst breaking off and destroying your turbo.
But as I said, get some good performance tires before you go for any power mods.
