Your BAIC Home Theaters
Well,
The thread about Transformers pending release and HD DVD I got to wondering. What kind of TV rigs/Home Theater set-ups are you guys rocking in the BAIC. I'm pretty happy with mine, but with some of the BAIC ballers and general tech geeks in the BAIC, I know that some of your HT's will make mine look like a POS and I want to see them.
So, post up a quick description and a picture if you've got one.
Here's mine:
Samsung HL-T5676S 56" 1080p DLP TV
Sony HT-DDW900 (STR-K900 Reciever, etc.) 5.1 HTiB
Samsung DVD-1080P7 DVD Player (connected via HDMI/Coaxial)
Motorola DVR/HDTV Dual Tuner Cable Box (connected via HDMI/Optical)
XBOX 360 (connected via VGA/Optical)
HDDVD 360 Add-on Player (same VGA/Optical)
Monster HTS1000MKIII Conditioner/Surge Protector
Cheap Init NT-C1140 TV/Entertainment System Stand

The pics suck, but you get the idea. Judging by what some of you use just as computer monitors I know there are some crazy HT's out there.

I, uh, moved from whatever address may be publicly available. I now have this equipment in an anonymous location out of state. ![Wink](https://www.i-club.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Seriously though, the way people in Antioch spend way over their means, my system is probably half as good as the one in the section 8 house three block up.

the old RCA doesnt have HDMI.
while the new sony receiver does do HDMI, it cannot take that signal and downgrade it to spit out via it's component outputs (which the RCA can only handle).
if and when this RCA does take a flying leap, everything will be HDMI and PS3 is going downstairs xbox is going up...

I joined the AVSforums to do some research prior to buying a new TV. Some of the theaters those guys have built in their homes (or built their homes around in many cases) are absolutely nuts. Like full 2.35:1 aspect ration theaters with 16' screens. Nuts.

I live in Antioch, so I'm no baller.
I'll tell you a little secret... my new TV was an open box at BB. It's a fairly new model and its build date is only two months ago, but for whatever reason BB discontinued carrying that model in their stores (they still have it online.) So, with the dramatic price reductions in HD over the past 6 months coupled with a good open box discount my TV was only $999; just over half what it's worth new and about a third of what this sized TV was 1-1.5 years ago.
