one more thing:

right now you can get a "driving evaluation".

basically you drive a DMV employee around, and if they feel (yeah I know, totally subjective) that you're a good driver, and don't deserve the points you have now, they can reduce your points.

Call the DMV for more info.

Good Luck...

/\ HMMMMM, thats a good idea...I didnt know they could do that...however, IF you do decide to fight it....remember a few things.....

1 dress in a shirt and tie....look nice for the judge clean cut and shaven.
2 Speak to the judge in a very respectful and calm tone, and address him/her as "your honor".
3 explain your story to the judge, that you were forced to speed up to merge due to traffic or whatever the situation was.....make it sound like you HAD to SPEED UP to safely execute a lane change (merge) and were in the process of slowing down when the cop busted you.

I have my fingers crossed for you....let us know how it turns out.

bored cops

i think cops are bleh. is it just me, or do others find that 35 mph in a straightaway 5 lane road is just a bit slow??? i find myself driving about 50 in those area all the time, but of course i always keep my eye out for cops and so far i've been doing this for over a 2 years since i got my license and still no ticket yet. maybe i'm just lucky. anyways hope u can fight off the ticket.

actually, the insurance companies dont mind the suspensions as much as they do the fact that I keep running into people
