And yet another problem

So drove my 04 wrx to a friends the other day just to get back in and find out my car wont start. Just cranks and cranks and wont start. Soon i realize my fuel pump isnt even on, its a walbro and is pretty loud when working so i replace it. still isnt working and i test both the old and new and both are working. Lanz0r checks my cel with a scanner and the scanner wont even connect. works just fine on his car but wont even turn on when connected to mine. everything electrical works fine on the car but the obd 2 connector and the fuel pump. Im really stumped to i pulled out my ecu just for kicks and i look underneath the cover and in red writing it says 02 wrx??? X_X its in sharpie so im even more lost. If anyone has any sugesstions or info lemme know Thankss in advanced

Could be the master fuse under the hood, when you turn the car to key on but don't crank it does the check engine light come on? if the CEL is not on with the key on then the ECU has no power and that would explain why you can't connect to it!

The CEL does come on and everything seems to be fine. Scanner wont connect and fuel pump will not turn on those are the only two clues i seem to have. All fuses in the engine bay and under the dash were intact and working.

Check the crank and cam sensors, typically if the sensors aren't referenced then the fuel pump and such will not turn on.
