WWYD What would you do
Get a sti in crystal grey metallic and do a fmic TBE re flash and other minor mods (and ditch the spoiler)
or get
A legacy GT wagon in silver
tint out the windows and do TBE reflash, and minor mods (and possibly a sti drivetrain swap down the road?)
what would you do? just curious

I guess I'm the first vote for an STi. The answer to this question is highly dependent on the situation you're in. For example, if I were married and had kids, I would definitely go with the Legacy Gt. But since I'm single and no kids, STi all the way!

Car Info: 05 LGT Wagon, 05 S4 Sedan, 05 WRX (sold)
i drove the legacy GT with short shifter, premium package, etc -
ride is a bit plusher then WRX - pull is much stronger - the clutch on the legacy is weird, I didn't like it. Handling is nice BUT i like the STI more - its much more fun, legacy FEELS kinda big (even tho its only ~200 pounds more then WRX).
plus I like WRX/STI looks more.
I say STI, unless you have kids/familiy/house and need cargo space.

I'd go with the Subaru Legacy GT Wagon.
Here are my reasons:
1. Lost of upgrades compared to the STi. Nice higher class trim too. USUALLY you do pay a bit more, but you get more at that. You do pay for what you get and it shows here.
2. Got the STi engine and turbo in it, a little detuned but still enough umph and you can always upgrade like you said, with your minor mods.
3. Total sleeper car! Nobody (maybe except Subaru people like us) expects a Legacy to haul some serious ***! It can crush a lot of competition despite being bigger than a STi. You can't possibly "sleeper" a STi because even without the wing; everyone knows about this notorious car. Look at the cross eyes and the huge hood scoop, people stare. A killer Legacy is like, WHOA! You don't see that everyday!
Sidenote: The Subaru Legacy GT Wagon kinda reminds me of a Dodge Magnum with the whole "open it from either end" type of scenario. I know that's still comparing apples to oranges, but I meant as in you can put hella stuff in the back and it would still go.
4. Less attention from everyone. You won't get picked up endlessly either by racers or cops. Everyone tends to look at a STi like I said before. Then you gotta ignore them or deal with cops about mods, etc.
5. Hella pratical, versatile, and economical. If you got human passengers like family or friends or even cargo, plenty of room. It doesn't drink like a **** and very nicely priced at around 30 K. Of course, AWD of all Subarus.
6. It's more "Grown Up" as in not the racer boy's dream car. It's got class like I mentioned before and more for people who tend to be older. (I'm 20 with a WRX, I love my car but if I could, I'd like to pull out a Subaru Legacy GT Ltd. Sedan out of the hat just to surprise everyone.)
7. I-CLUB NEEDS SOME LEGACY LOVIN'!
Oh yeah, I'd go with the Obsidian Black Pearl, but that's just me. I think it's because I already have a Silver WRX. The Legacy looks good in any of the color schemes available though, so the silver is a superb choice.
Also, if you're thinking about the Legacy GT, there's also the Outback with the H-6 engine and no turbo. That's in wagon form and soon it would have a sedan form as well. I think the power is just as good if not better, and it would be hard choice for me to choose between the Legacy and the Outback.
EDIT: I realize a lot of my reasons tend to relate to other reasons listed, however, I just meant it with extra emphasis as well as different pros to getting the Legacy GT over the STi. That's my disclaimer, don't flame me plz! LOL

leaning towards a leg wagon manual of course...
would tint the windows and go with gunmetal rims and a few trinkets from the land of the rising sun..
Biggest issue right now is trying to get my **** in order so i COULD do something like this..
Just wanted to see what you guys thought of each car. And down the road IF i got a leg i would do a sti drivetrain swap into her dccd, 6 speed, etc. haha now that would own....
