WTT: Need M+S tires for the weekend 1/29 - 1/31
Hello All,
Shot in the dark, but I could get lucky... I'm headed to Northstar @ Tahoe next weekend, and I'm not thinking my 40% tread depth RS2's are the safest for arctic travel. If anyone has a spare set of wheels with M+S tires you wouldn't mind renting, or trading for the weekend from your current vehicle, I'd certainly be appreciative!
Specifics:
- I really only need them for the weekend, but if you're enjoying my tires, your welcome to them for an additional few days or so.
- I have a spare set of OEM 16" RS wheels if you only have tires to share, but would prefer mounted for a quick easy temporary exchange.
- I have JDM 4-pot front brakes, so a 16" wheel or larger will be necessary.
- My current wheels are 16x8 (5x100 bolt pattern) Rota Slipstreams with 245/45/16 Hankook RS2's, freshly shaven and gummed from an event at Thunderhill 2 weeks back. If your car isn't too low, they will fit for trade. I have some spacers JIK. They are remarkably grippy on wet asphalt, and AMAZING on dry surfaces.
BONUS: I have a TPMS installed in these wheels and the display is powered through cigarette lighter. Gives press. and temp. -- Kinda fun to play with.
If any questions or consideration, please post here. Do not PM. Otherwise my email is Dan-at-034Motorsport.com
TIA!!

check out cueballsi's thread - hes renting some michelin alpine 2 tires on rims
I am thinking of renting my snow tires (stock 03 wrx rims 5x100 with Michelin alpine 2)
NOTE: Snow tires don't mean you can drive like you do when it is dry. You still need to be a safe driver and respect nature.
Rental fee-
$30 a day
$60 for 3 days
or $1 per 10 miles (what ever is more)
Deposit- $500- or your aftermarket rims +$200
Let me know if this seems reasonable.

Dan, what's wrong with you!?
Why don't you just call me first dude!?
You can have my stockers for the weekend. They are goldies. So, you have to take pictures, that's all I ask. :-)
They are on the car right now, but I'm going to swap the 18x9.5 Saturday morning.

There is one, little, thing though. They are 205/45/16. So, they are gonna be under sized. Good for torque, bad for gas mileage. But, it's shouldn't be too much an issue, it's only 6.5% difference. If you are going 60mph on the speedo, you're actually going 56mph If you are loaded up with stuff, you'll like the tire size. They have less than 2000 miles on them, crazy fresh.

That looks like BFGoodrich g-Force Sport...
Not if it's Ultra High Performance SUMMER tire!
It looks like you mounted backward, too.
Wrong size, wrong type, & mounted backward...

I bought to roll the car around on I could care less about how they are oriented.
Now, not being M+S, I didn't realize. Wonder if they would still hold up though. They don't look or feel like a performance tire to me. The tread looks fine, but not sure about the rubber compound.
Good lookin' out Fendy

The g-Force Sport is designed to provide traction in dry and wet conditions, however it is not intended to be driven in near freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
