every once in a while...like late at night, I'd actually hear some good beats on 92.7
I haven't listened to it in months now..did they change to hip hop?
****in A! why do we need THREE ghetto stations playing Lil jon all day?

its POWER 92.7 now hahahaha...reminds me of LA... too much rap though and its not even underground hip-hop which would be cool, but its everything i hear on 106.1 and 94.9...argghhhh...
i liked the fobby, over-remixed dance songs lol...no seriously it was a break from 94.9 and 106.1...now i just listen to 105.3 now...damn aaron....

Man, radio is so sad nowadays. I remember back in the day when I listened to the Wake Up Show on KMEL with Sway and Tech. Now THAT was a hip-hop show. I was raised off the golden era of hip-hop in the early to mid 90's. Gangstarr, Hiero (well...at least just Souls of Mischief), Nas, Mobb Deep, Channel Live, KRS-One, Pharcyde, AZ, Big L, "Ready To Die" Biggie, early Jay-Z joints, etc would get regular airplay on the mixshows. Then they'd play a lot of underground stuff too. Every hour I'd hear a hip-hop group or emcee that I've never heard before, but it's dope. That's back when hip-hop mix shows were GOOD.
Hell, even Wild 107 (before the switch to 94.9, which was a living hell for analog tuner radio listeners after that), had decent hip-hop shows, well, that's because most of the hip-hop was decent back then. Now they've got this crap on KMEL called the "Chop Shop"? They STILL play the same sh*t on their mixes for the next 2-3 hours. Plus it sounded just a tad too catered to the west coast for me to care. Don't get me wrong, I got crazy love for west coast emcees, but not if most of the stuff they put out sucks and sounds almost all the same (horrible producing). I didn't even hear a lick of Blackalicious, Hiero, or any of the sort at all on that show.
I wished there was a station that was entirely devoted to hip-hop fans just like me who likes "hip-hop" hip-hop, not hip-pop. I've seen a few talented emcees who just end up selling out and putting out bullcrap just because the public likes that sh*t.

After going to the BA this past weekend i realized that radio in the area blows. All i heard was static on most of them and a lot of gospel/spanish channels.
Out of all the cities i've been/lived i feel Sacramento has the best radio stations & variety hands down.
