Arrow WTB good quality catback

Looking for catback exhaust for a 2003 wrx sedan. I am currently using the STi 2.5" stocky.

I'm looking for a good exhaust. I don't want ANY drone on the highway but I want to have some bass that is better than the stocky STi. I really want the COBB SS 3" catback. I'm on stage 2 with a COBB catted DP and a COBB UP. I want something like a COBB, Stromung 3" (or 2.5") or maybe a Crawford. May also consider Maddad Whisper. No Borlas. No eBays.

=)

Just replace the muffler with a Magnaflow or Dynamax (basically the same thing).
A local muffler shop can do it, should cost less than $150 installed with the STI tip swapped over

Why not ebay?

If the stainless was lighter, I'd only use a OBX or something similar. I go to muffler shops and get it done with aluminized steel because it's thin and lighter than stainless.

Doesnt the thin wall also vibrate/resonate more due to the thin wall of that piping?

I've heard most in person EXCEPT that one... sounds good one you tube but does it have enough grumble to scream boxer when it needs to? hehehe

I've heard the hush... it sounds good... but... eh. Borla. I don't know... maybe it's the looks - something isn't right to me

I had the COBB clone. It fit HORRIBLY. Hung totally sideways (no pun intended)... I also had a Ti-tip eBay fart cannister type and it sounded great but it rattled my brain on the highways so that didn't last long either. It pretty much needs to be stainless - sounds the best imho. Every non-stainless I've heard is really raspy?

There's a guy that works on the same street as I do in San Rafael that has a Magnaflow muffler welded to a custom-ish setup. Its loud as F**K but it does sound really good - not sure if he gutted it too? I've also heard a lot of full magnas and dynas and a few hybrid slap-togethers that I really didn't like... It's a little to vague for me to go that approach. If it sounds horrible then I just ruined my STi exhaust that I could have sold :/

Somewhere out there in the vast sea of Subies that makes up the BAIC, there blows my old 3 inch straight pipe. Seek it out, and it shall be yours -- for FREE -- as dictated by the bylaws of the BAIC, upon pain of trunk monkey mauling and merciless ostracization of the party that refuses to give it up for free, by all i-Club members and at any and all meets from San Ysidro to Fort Dick (*snicker*).

Its the holy grail of all subaru exhausts. Very different and distinctive sound. Very hard to find, in good condition, and cheap. On my list of Top Exhausts Must Own.

Scoobysport was the first to design the backbox I believe, then Hayward & Scott took over the design and sold it under their name. Now it is discontinued, but still floating around for those who can recognize it.
