SACRAMENTO—A construction worker died Thursday after being struck by a driver who was also killed in the crash.
Arnoldo Placencia, 49, of Sacramento, was repairing a road when he was fatally hit at about 1:20 a.m. in Sacramento County's Arden Arcade neighborhood, officials said.
The driver was identified by Assistant Coroner Ed Smith as Sacramento resident Nancy Richards.
The accident happened when two construction workers were in a hole about four feet deep while Placencia was standing alongside in the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol. Richards, 26, hit Placencia, sending him flying about 100 feet, and instantly killing him, authorities said.
A second worker, Michael A. Lewis, 42, of Sacramento, was slightly injured and treated at a Sacramento hospital.
Richards' vehicle kept going and hit a parked construction truck and a trailer, the CHP said. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The CHP said she was not wearing a seat belt, and a witness told investigators she appeared to be traveling 70 mph in a 40 mph zone.
The roadway was closed for about four hours during the initial investigation.

this reminds me of the time i was on hwy 13, the twisties, on the way to santa cruz.
i'm in my sti going faster than average traffic.
this women, pretty hot looking, in a 4Runner passes me even going faster.
i'm going through the corners no problem but i'm starting to think the 4runner is going too fast for what the car is, especially on a downhill twisty.
4 seconds later, she looses control during one of the corners and crossed lanes back and forth trying to gain control. luckily she was going fast enough so that no one was next to her and gained control in the end. i went beside her and gave her the finger and the palm for "slow down".
why do ppl drive stupid.

May 4, 2009 (WAUKEGAN, Ill.) (WLS) -- A motorcycle driver was killed when she was rear-ended by a driver who was allegedly painting her nails.
I thought driving while on the cell phone was bad.
I ride a motorcycle daily, and a day does not go bye that almost get run over.

I hate stupidity and negligence when driving, because it more often then not, cause injury or death to someone else who wasn't aware of you.
Especially when riding, its more dangerous. People who dont look over their shoulder. people who are in the carpool lane and get off and exit without looking thoroughly for cars AND motorcycles. People who commit left hand turns without yielding or to "beat the light" and hit motorcyclist.
I'm not perfect. I know that, I sometimes speed, or roll stops, change lanes fast ect. but I always try to keep my eyes and ears open so I don't **** up anyone else.
