World Cup 2014 Thread
Didn't see one anywhere so I figured I'd make one!
First match is today at 1pm pst.
I figure most of the people will be supporting the good ol' US of A, so we can rally behind them in this here thread.
If not, let us know who you're supporting, or if you have a #2 team. My #2 is Germany due to my ethnic background, but I surely won't be cheering for them in the group stages vs the US. If the US and Germany get out of the group, I'll be a happy guy.
I've certainly got my hopes up for a good performance this year, but with the group being what it is, I'm not going to invest too much emotion in it. Even though I'll be bummed if they don't make it out, as long as they play well I won't be disappointed. I love what Jürgen has done with the team, and hope he sticks around for a good long time.
Here's the full schedule:
First person to say Donovan not making the team was a mistake gets an automatic red card

Haha. My #3 is England, but I don't feel that strongly towards them. They're just who I would support if Germany and USA were out. I see England making it out of groups but doubt they'll get further than Germany.

I dunno how they go far without Landon... Dude might be aged, but he's got intangibles and instinct that's made him a pretty damn good soccer player.

Donovan has been discussed so much by ESPN and other big media outlets that I want to put a drill in my ear every time they bring it up.

England aren't going to do well at all, if they take 4 points from this group I'll be surprised!
I'd be happy though if they progress in the following manor..
Beat Italy, well because Italy is shaped like a boot cause you can't fit that much **** in a sandal
Beat Uraguay by means of knocking all the teeth out of Saurez
Tie with Costa Rica cause quite frankly I don't really care for or against them!
