Window Tinting (group buy)
#31
its only $35
whoa!
the difference is $35 bucks!
i mean if this is your car, and you gonna live with it for a while, you pay the $35 for assured quality, at least in my book you do.
i called vince and i will be taking my car in there next week.

WTF!
Ok, this whole deal went sour and down the drain... I got in a huge *** fight last night with the host of this whole group buy. I mainly got mad at him cause he was talking smack about me all along and started **** with me. He was just being an *** and I got fed up with it and blew up. Eventually tempers flared and I'm never doing business with this jackal again.
Vince hasn't responded back to my previous posts. However from his latest reply, he doesn't seem to do group buys. Therefore, I don't know if he's going to release a tint special or not in the near future. Anyways, I'm out of this group buy with the Johnson Tint.
Vince, you've made me into a customer cause quite frankly, everyone is right. A $35 difference is nothing for better quality. I'm going with you instead if you'll accept me as a customer. Everyone else who wants to, I suggest so as well. It's up to Vince if he wants a group buy or discount or whatever he wants to do with his business. Either way, I'm willing to pay my $160 for the best of the best. I'll be contacting Vince soon for the possible tint job with his consent.
to the ******* host who screwed me over!

It's possible for a group buy through vince, but thing is, it would hard for him to do more than 3 or 4 cars in 1 sitting. so you can organize the customers, and then let him know, he might quote you something. collect the $$ ahead of time, and have this all handy for him. then those people might be able to call up and set appts based on their scedules, and they've already paid through you...
Prepaid group buy. scheduling done on a indivual basis.
I think that is a system that COULD work.
however, will say right now, he's tinted my car, and 3 others cars in my family, and i won't ever dispute any quote he'll give me. The quality is just that GOOD.
but above and beyond all that, he's now a good friend, and you can't ever lowball your friends.
160/180 is a deal.

Nah, that seems way too much complication. I don't think Vince would be too happy doing so many cars at once first of all even at 3-4 vehicles. Quite frankly, I don't think Vince wants anything to do with group buys what-so-ever and I wouldn't blame him. I totally understand the situation he's coming from as the tint service provider.
Not only that, but it's my head is on the line to collect all that money and to give it to him. That's a lot of cash at hand... not that I'm not a legitimate person, but it's very hard to keep track of who paid, who's going to make a scheduling, who's done with their tint job, etc. Not that I don't trust this board, but there are many ways someone could cheat the system. Say they've paid, do a fraud job by pretending to be someone else, etc. Eventually, that would put my *** at risk if I don't detect it.
Prepaid group buy sounds like a very possible solution, but I rather not deal with it because having someone else's money in my hand with so many customers would just be hectic and cause problems.
Like I said, I have nothing against Vince. I hope he has nothing against me either. Finally, YES! I agree that friends can't lowball friends like the way the original host did to me! I'm not like that!
Also, $160-180 is very fair. In the previous post, I would be more than willing to pay that much for his quality job. I hope he wouldn't thrash or defect or sabatoge mine cause I was originally going to go somewhere else. Although he doesn't sound like that kind of person so it's not a worry.
I suggest all those who want tint, do it the regular way by calling up Omega Tintwerks and schedule with an ordinary deal.

My friend Hugo got his tint done on his STi at Vince's shop and it looks freakin' awesome. I was tempted to get a tint job on my RS sedan too cuz it looked so nice.

if you have pictures of that STi that would be awesome to see.
i have a white STi, and i am thinking about a %20 on all doors and back window, and would love to see what that would look like.
i am also getting a clear shield done at Vince's shop.
will post pictures once its done.

I wish I knew about Vince's shop and deal. I paid 240 for all the windows on my wagon. though it looks good, the $60 would have been nice.
I've told friends about his shop and they all have been pleased.
