Window tinting in the bay Area?

What Tint % are you using?
What tint shop did you go to?
How much did they charge?

Just wanted to get this thread started to see where to get my own windows tinted, and see what others have used in the bay.

Thanks!

I went 35% 25% cause i was worried on my impreza but next car will definitely be more like 20% fronts and 5% rears. Go dark or youll regret it. I have rarely seen anyone regretting too dark, its mainly crap its not dark enough.

Ill check them out and possibly ask for a quote. Might as well get the job done very well first time around than go cheap, right

Is it safe too tint the front so dark? the issue is, im still under my parents insurance, and im worried tint laws will screw me over. I made a firm confirmation that 1 ticket or pull-over by cops and im done for untill I FULLY pay for my own car insurance, since right now i'm only paying about 1/8th of it.

BTW, does anyone have some insight about the 5% tint at night? I dont want to blind my self with a too dark of a tint and cause a collision.

I am thinking around 70%front (max in CA), and 20% rear, at the moment.

70% front looks like its untinted, might as well save your money and not tint at that point. 20% rear will be ok. Tint shouldnt really blind you if the cars around you have their lights on. If youre concerned you can always go LED bulbs to compensate lol. Tint is what you want it to be. If you want, you can check out the tint on my cars this sunday lol. I am having a mini car meet/parts swap at my house :-)

Any tint that darkens the front windows can warrant a ticket, just don't get it, especially if there is any other mods on your car that aren't legal.

alright.

Well, sometimes my family and I go to out of state locations and we leave during midnight. issue is we usually drive something like route 66, where its pretty empty flat roads, and when that happens im just worried something too dark would become a hazard.

If you dont mind that would actually be pretty cool. PM going to be sent

Its REALLY rare that you'll get busted for tint though. The only time i've ever known people getting busted for window tint in the front windows is because they have already been busted for too loud an exhaust or other "illegal" mods like black taillights (and i mean black not smoked).

Feel free to swing by theoutbackdream! I figure since im gonna have a couple people we might as well make it a block party! lol

hmm.. Alright, well if I do go, you should tell me if my impreza looks "illegal" lol But idk. Ill probably talk to my parents about it. see whether if they'll let me go with it.

Hopefully I get the "ok" to go. That would actually pretty sweet!
