Why so much SRT-4 hatred?

the wrx is not a huge improvement over the imprezza, after driving both before I got the wrx since the wrx was n '03 and the imprezza an '04, such that they costed about the same.
Most of the responses in this thread have been positive, so I'll just assume the hatred is only perceived. I just hear soooo much sh*t talking about them that it feels like hatred

that commercial/ad replays in my head every time I see one
One of my buddies got an SRT4 in May... got the chance to drive it a few times since then... It is awesome fun to drive it in a straight line, but I wouldn't trade it for my WRX + 3k. For all the reasons previously mentioned in this thread.

What does this mean exactly? They're all Imprezas. Do you mean the WRX vs. the base model Impreza RS/TS? Even so, there's been Imprezas in both '03 and '04.

I've never driven a base model neon, but I imagine the SRT4 is a much huger improvement!

I went to the dealer and test drove one when they first came out. I beat on it a little and he is right, it is a cool car as far as performance for 20,000. i'm not saying i would buy one but if it looked a little better i might. dodge should have made a whole new platform for the srt-4 and not used the neons.

Whenever wrx owners make fun of other car for being ugly, it is the funniest shiznit evar....
granted, the bugeyes have grown on me and I look at my car like a "cute, angry bullpup" but I definately do not see exotic supercar styling in it. We, folk, most definately have one of the ugliest mean-green-firebreathing-turbo-machines on this planet. Granted, like the GNX some of us like it ugly, some of us love the sedan with 5 seats.
but come on...a wrx owner making fun of another car for being ugly...
