Why are homes so expensive in 94043 (moving to Mountain View)

Been looking for a decent place to live since I'm moving back to Nor Cal for a new job and jebus, anything decent is upper 600k.

Any other places or cities that are nice? Not looking for the city type, just a nice quiet suburb.

Looking for a townhouse/condo or decent house for under 700k

Why? Because lots of other people have the same idea and want to live there too.

Why? because the gay/lesbian community drive up property values.

They usually have great jobs, drive nice cars, expensive taste.. and they are great with exterior/interior decorating.

norcal does not suck...it just comes with a hella large population in a concentrated area....more folks, more demand for housing, more expensive housing.

I live in 94043.
It's expensive because it's a very nice area, close to shopping and restarants (Castro St). Where about in 94043 do you want to move to?
I believe townhomes are around 700K in the 10 year old developed areas (whisman station)

I just don't want a far commute from work. Currently in So Cal I commute 12 miles so anything under 20 miles is ok.

My work is off the 101 and Amphitheatre. To be honest never really been there so I have no idea where is a good area. But from looking at the homes, it seems nice. I just don't want to live in an area that reminds me of Oakland.
