Canon's XL1

Looks like I'd be able to borrow Canon XL1 for the weekend. So please respond - do you think they would let us film during the event? anyone feels like filming anything? think I should bring it or nobody cares?
I should be able to get my hands on camera itself, tripod, a couple of hours worth of blank tapes, and a battery should be good for about 3-4 hours. So, pretty much everything needed to use it...

okay just got an update from JGTC...
They're having some problems regarding the fan lap since they over booked 800 cars for club pass. So they have to limit the fan lap entry to only 250 and this will be a long waiting line starting at 6am.
BUT!
to make up for it... we are now moved into the infield rather than just the parking lots outside and we will have the only parking pass with in-out privileges.
Those who are not able to participate in the fan lap will receive a free wristband for VIP grand stand seating for both Saturday and Sunday. This basically puts you in the infield action and allows you to see down straights and through the corner sections. Since its limited access, you'll be sure to have a seat.
Since we are now parking in the infield area, for security purposes, all club entry cars will need to display a club parking pass. I will have copies of the passes, still waiting to hear back from JGTC if we can distribute the club parking passes electronically.
More info as I get them....

Tommy,
I inquired JGTC regarding upgrade to club pass - it was after the deadline - I wasn't sure I was going to be able to go - but now I know I can go.
Luckily Stephen Dietrich got my reqest and remembered my name so he emailed me back saying he would reserve a space for me with your group - but to let you know about it.
Tommy, can you please let me know if it's ok that a space was added for me.
I asked about upgrade and Stephen was generous and told me that he would go ahead and reserve a space - I didn't mean to not contact you first.
- the move to infield + additional pass complicates things
Tommy can you mention my name to Stephen -
"Roland Cerna"
Thanks
- Roland

I think you'll be fine, I believe we have one of the biggest entry so far, and we should have plenty of parking, but I'll make sure you have a spot.
see you at the event! =)
