aright so I have to clarify here....

aluminum is welded using high frequency AC power to facilitate the melting of the oxide layer without burn through. Needs a pure tungsten electrode.

titanium is welded exactly like stainless steel i.e electrode negative DC power with a high frequency start but is much more sensitive to the atmosphere and needs major argon purge and the least amount of heat input per weld spec. Zirconiated tungsten is good for xray quality welds.


As for the barb fittings I'd tap holes and throw threaded fittings in instead of welding yo. Way easier than matching alloys to the Subaru casting.
