My a.p.c denim have been pretty good to me 1.5 years, been hiking, yard work, Cycling and working on cars in uhm still haven't ripped or shown signs of wear really.
Pretty tough/stiff denim but after awhile they feel awesome.

I have not worn them but I also hear good things about the "fire hose" pants from duluth trading. My friend has a bunch of pairs. They are made from 2 layers of the same material they make fire hoses from.

What about Dickies?
I picked mine up from a surplus store in 1998. I typically only wear them to crawl around under cars, home repairs, paint, etc. They're my go-to. I did get the coveralls though

I'm not sure about how much they cost but I have like 5 pairs of MEK jeans that have lasted me 3 years of rugged wear. I have taken them to work (warehouse), camping, working on cars and all that good stuff. Never had a problem. They are pretty fashionable and I got them at Macy's and Nordstrom.

Wranglers, working on house projects and automotive things between my 4x4 and my subaru + fun I can get about 3yrs out of a pair of wranglers.
Never had much of an issue with them wearing out quickly.

I was going to say 21 oz. Iron Heart, but someone beat me to it.
However, they are not cheap at 8x your target price. That's about $100 more than the most expensive pair of jeans I've purchased, which I wore every single day for 2 years before they developed issues. Well worth it - I have worn through 5 or 6 pairs of Levi's or whatever in that time. You get what you pay for.
