Who is that local detail guy?
I want to have my car detailed. I have a few questions:
Do you have the capability to strip a kick *** paint sealant?
I have this great paint sealant that just makes the car glow, but I made the mistake of not buffing out the microscratches/swirls caused by a stupid soft bristle foaming brush that I used at a self service car wash.
Now, even though my car shines like glass, you can see the imperfections through the shin if you look close, or are under a flourescent lite.
I tried to use a cleaner/swirl remover (3m for dark colors) and it would not penetrate the sealant. That Crystal Guard is some fantastic isht, I just wish that I had my cars paint pristine before I applied it
I know that detailers have some good isht that can strip clear coats.
Thanks for the help...I need to hire a good and affordable detailer.
Thanks,
Andy

BADWRX,
I think that detailer's screenname is FANKER. I have seen him on the board. Not sure if he is local to your area.
I got to get some of that CG sealant to try. Just did the clay bar and Zaino treatment over the weekend. I let the polish set up over night and its finally swirl free. Damn black car.
Good luck,
Bill

You MUST be VERY methodical in you application. Buy some MICROFIBER TOWELS and an ABSORBER chamois thingy.
You must smear the stuff on wet with the microfiber, and you don't have to use too much. You will feel the resistance on the MicroFiber.
Go rinse her down....spend about 5 minutes doing that...
Then PAD DOWN the car with the ABSORBER...it takes time, but you MUST PAD IT DOWN...don't just wipe it off. Then take the MOIST MICROFIBER and LIGHTLY buff out the car.
I have used 5 coats on my 2 cars, and I have it down to a science.
You will be so glad that your car is black. As long as you have no swirls...your jaw will drop!
If you have any questions...please PM me!

i got your email about the detailing, actually i've been taking some time away from detailing lately (only been taking requests from existing clients). had too many requests in such a short period of time my back started to give me trouble after the detailing and the motorcycle accident. i probably won't start detailing for another couple months. if you can wait then i'll make an appt for you.
if you want to try something other than the swirl remover you should try 3m rubbing compounds. first try the fine cut for 1000 grade sand scratches, if that doesn't work move to the medium cut compound. usually you don't have to go as far as the aggressive cream compound, so i wouldn't recommend you try this on your own. if you need any advice just email me.
