Actually, check this out:

http://people.howstuffworks.com/nuclear-bomb.htm

There are three different sub-menus... designs, physics, and how they work. They even have little illustrations.

Yeah, you should probably slowly back away from him/her and call the looney mobile or the men in black. Not going to win with a delusional person.

nuclear weapons are not *theoretically* not that hard to make, it's the procurement of the enriched uranium and concentrated high explosive to set off the reaction which prevents John Doe from blowing up San Francisco.

there's more to it than that...

You ever watch the Manhatten (did I spell that right) project where the teenager builds a nuke out of some weapons grade material that he got his hands on? Really lame movie and totally unrealistic.

Anyway, to get an actual nuke yield you need a virtually perfect devise design. It takes a lot of R&D to make one of these. Otherwise every country that could afford the material would have nukes. Without the proper design you'll just have what's called a dirty bomb* (No nuclear yield but lots of contamination. What our top experts in the U.S. fear most right now.).

Anyway, there's tons of basic info on the net about this stuff...
